Merry Christmas!

so i got a new lens, its a 50mm f/1.8, and it works beautifully!

i also got a gorilapod!

so im going to post some photos i took warming up to the new lens, and the troubles i went through when shooting with it the first time!

this is the first shot i took of myself with f/1.8

and this is when i finally got it right!

FOCUS TIP: the main problem was focusing perfectly, i learned a trick about focusing though yesterday, if you take your camera to the spot where your standing and focus off your tripod and then put your camera back with your tripod and stand in that same spot again, then you have a perfect focus because it only matters about the distance you are away from the photo!

Twin Series!

so I've started a new twin series, basically its just cloning, but i like to make my clones interact with each other as if they each have a set of different emotions!
here are the befores and afters of my shots, there are two befores and one after!

 not much to say about this one, just uped the saturation so the stars would stick out more, and meshed the two photos together by using the history brush tool.

the mountains looked really clear and beautiful this day, all i did was up the contrast and blue tones and mesh the two photo together using the history brush tool.

 

and i was also asked to take part in "merry christmas!" collaboration, and i was the "!" obviously!

Stress

so lately ive been having so many issues. ive been trying to make friends because my roommate is leaving in december, i'll now be required to take care of my step dad around the house, my real dad and i have issues of communicating and everyone blames it on me, holidays are coming up and i don't have presents for anyone but richard, and on top of that i still have my school work to do. ive been just so stressed lately and i have a feeling that this break is just going to add onto that, but im still excited for it, it starts December 17th and goes until about the 10th of January (i think, it may be the 17th who knows). im just ready to be out of college, get married, and start a family already!!

Goodbye Sunshine

I've been pretty uninspired lately, and I'm practically done my galaxy series, so my mind has been dry of ideas lately, so I decided to look back at who originally inspired me most, Lissy Elle. I saw this picture of a silhouette under her dress, and I just thought that was brilliant, so I was inspired to take one! I've been really excited for winter to start, and today is December 1st, so I thought I would do a farewell photo to summer and the "alive" seasons.

here is a before and after of my photo today. I decided to cut myself out of the picture and put it into a "less busy" room, so I used a stock photo from google and made it darker and blurry and added a bit of grain with it to match the grain of my body. I put a drop shadow of my body in the background so that it looked more realistic and then added a drop shadow of the dandelion to my dress. fairly simple. Oh and to get the light under my dress I practically squatted over a really bright lamp and I had a fan behind me blowing out my dress.
